Our IT Administrator will work alongside the System Administrator to monitor and maintain the Company’s IT systems and networks, track company assets and their warranty statuses, manage software licensing and security patch updates, manage the helpdesk ticketing system, and place purchase requisitions for new hardware and software. The position requires a strong administrative element which will include topical research, interdepartmental communication and documentation. Attention to detail is an essential characteristic for this job candidate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor and administer IT systems and networks
  • Set up new user accounts and assist with password issues
  • Administer helpdesk ensuring all tasks are allocated and completed within agreed timeframes
  • Work continuously on tasks until completion, engaging support vendors when needed
  • Prioritize and manage many open issues at one time
  • Create and update procedural documentation and reports as needed
  • Rapidly establish a good working relationship with different departments and support vendors
  • Track company assets and their respective warranty statuses
  • Maintain records of software licenses and request additional purchases when needed
  • Maintain asset tracking for all hardware
  • Use Microsoft SUS to roll out Windows OS security patches and updates (Or future system)
  • Place purchase requisitions for PO approval
  • Research potential hardware /software solutions
  • Assist System Administrator and IT Manager with any tasks as requested

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma
  • Associate’s degree or higher in computer science or related field
  • MS certifications a plus

QUALIFICATIONS

Solid computer knowledge and excellent administrative skills needed as well as strong communication, organization and customer service abilities. We are looking for someone personable as well as knowledgeable. Being able to understand issues, learn, be adaptable, flexible and open to feedback is essential to our job requirements. Must be able to self-manage without direct oversight. Other skills include:

  • Experience with the MS Office suite, both in usage and installation
  • Ability to understand IT issues and processes
  • Basic network connectivity troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with Windows Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and SUS
  • Ability to organize, track and report on company assets and issues
  • Effective communication in English: fluent in speaking and writing
