Position Summary: The Architectural Sales Representative manages architectural promotion to influence the design and specification process and position Nichiha’s products for use on commercial projects, while effectively utilizing his/her time and resources to increase sales output. This individual is to implement current sales strategies and drive specification position for Nichiha products with the Architect, Interior Designer and Specifier community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interface and build relationships with Architects and other actors in the design community
  • Influence the specification process with Specification Writers/Creators
  • Build a prominent specification position for Nichiha products
  • Implement agreed upon sales strategies (i.e. sales programs)
  • Evaluate effectiveness of current sales strategies and programs
  • Identify projects where Nichiha has been specified or submitted
  • Create and maintain a project pipeline in Salesforce.com
  • Track/Maintain specified/submitted project pipeline through to order received stage
  • Document all activities in Salesforce.com
  • Present AIA/CES courses to Architects
  • Assist in development of new AIA CES offerings
  • Provide feedback on current AIA/CES offerings
  • Coordinate market intelligence on product, program, shipping and market segments
  • Collaborate with other Nichiha personnel as required to provide technical assistance, training, project-start-up, dealer assistance, contractor assistance, problem resolution, etc.
  • Manage the sales process through dealer or distribution channels, as required
  • Collaborate with Field Technical personnel to develop a trained and consistent installer base
  • Participate in regional design organizations and promotional/trade show activities
  • Participate in national promotional/trade show activities as required
  • Assist in Product Development
  • Gather information on competitive activity and prospective strategic directives
  • Assist in managing inventory levels

  • Strong understanding of the architectural specification process with demonstrated experience in promoting to architects, designers and specifiers
  • Understanding of building products sales channels and typical flow of products through distribution channels to final application
  • Must be a self-starter and self-motivator, and work independently
  • Good understanding of the construction process
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Knowledge of CRM, specifically Salesforce.com preferred

 

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree is a strongly preferred for this position
  • CDT certification a plus
  • 3-5 years of proven sales experience in building materials pulling through the architectural channels and influencing specifications
